When it comes to maximizing the potential of your vehicle, custom dyno tuning is the way to go. Recently, we had the opportunity to work on a 2014 Fuso Fighter that was plagued by emissions issues related to the Adblue and SCR systems.

Limp Mode

Before we dive into the details of the Fuso Fighter Dyno Tune, it’s essential to understand the concept of “limp mode.” Limp mode is a protective mechanism employed by modern vehicles, including trucks like the Fuso Fighter, to limit engine performance when critical issues are detected. In the case of the emissions system, problems related to the Adblue, DOC, SCR, DPF, and Adblue tank can trigger limp mode, which significantly hampers the vehicle’s power output.

In our case, the Fuso Fighter was suffering from these emissions issues, leading to its reduced performance and a limp mode power output of 78.3Hp and 287.3Nm on the dyno.

Stock Dyno Run

Once the emissions issues were resolved, we proceeded with the stock run on the dyno to establish a baseline for comparison. The Fuso Fighter’s stock run revealed a power output of 126.2Hp and 532.7Nm of torque at the wheels. However, we knew that with our custom dyno tuning expertise, there was much more to unlock from this beast of a truck.

With the Fuso Fighter in prime condition and the stock run completed, it was time to work our magic with the custom dyno tune. Our experienced technicians meticulously fine-tuned the engine’s Electronic Control Unit (ECU), optimizing various parameters such as fuel injection timing, air-fuel mixture, turbo boost pressure, and ignition timing. This comprehensive remapping process allowed us to achieve a harmonious balance between power, torque, and fuel economy.

Modified Dyno Run

After the custom dyno tune was completed, we eagerly returned the Fuso Fighter to the dyno for a post-tune run. The results were nothing short of astounding. The power output surged to an impressive 154.4Hp, while torque soared to 663.6Nm. This equates to a remarkable increase of 22% in power and an impressive 25% boost in torque compared to the stock run. The Fuso Fighter had transformed into a true powerhouse, ready to conquer any road or challenge it’s confronted with.

Benefits Beyond Power and Torque

Aside from the substantial power and torque gains, the Fuso Fighter Dyno Tune also delivered additional benefits that enhanced the overall driving experience. The optimized tuning improved fuel economy, ensuring more miles per gallon and reduced operating costs. Furthermore, the truck’s driveability improved significantly, with smoother acceleration, better throttle response, and a more enjoyable overall driving experience.
