This Hino hit the dyno!
Today we had a Hino 500 Dyno Tune for some well needed power upgrades.
This tune is aiming for power increase with not only reliability but also longevity in mind.
When this Hino 500 first came to us we checked over the vitals of the truck to ensure it is running correctly and has no underlying issues that could effect the power output.
Evidently, our stock run figures were in at 163.8HP and 507Nm of Torque. We were expecting these figures after taking into consideration driveline losses by comparison to stock ratings
After a custom dyno tune from our experts here at HD Tuning we managed to achieve +32% Power and +27% Torque! All within the safe and reliable limits from the Hino 500.
That equates to 215.7HP (+51.9HP) and 642Nm (+134.6Nm) of Torque at the wheels!
All things considered, when we carry out a Hino 500 Dyno Tune we usually see anywhere from 30-40% gains when it’s powered by the J08E engine.
When comparing the power/torque at the wheels to the power/torque at the flywheels we have this information to show the estimated driveline losses. This also calculates an estimate on Flywheel Power and Torque to compare to the factory figures.
The main goal for this tune was for power, reliability and longevity. Overall, we’ve certainly gave this vehicle some tasteful power while keeping it well within the limits of the J08E.
